The tender for the construction of the 30-km long Greenfield Expressway to connect the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Faridabad with Noida International Airport at Jewar in UP has been opened.

Sources in the NHAI said the tender bid opened on July 29 has found a bid of Rs 1,660.50 crore by a Lucknow-based company as the lowest among a total of 12 bids submitted for the project. The highest bid submitted is of Rs 2,133 crore.

An NHAI official said the estimated cost of the project is Rs 1,515.49 crore. The project was announced in August 2021. Known as ‘spur package’ under the Bharatmala Pariyojna of the Union Government, the expressway will commence from Sector 65 in Ballabgarh and culminate at Dayanatpur village near Jewar.

The expressway will pass from several villages, including Chandawali, Sotai, Bahbulpur, Phaphunda, Panehra Khurd, Narhawali, Mahmadpur, Hirapur, Mohna and Chhainsa in the district, before crossing the KGP Expressway and Yamuna.

Once started, the project is expected to be completed in two years and will be built on hybrid annuity mode (HAM). Under HAM, 40 per cent of the cost will be borne by the NHAI, while 60 per cent will be borne by the company allotted the tender.

The expressway will provide a direct connectivity between the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway (DND-Faridabad-KMP Expressway) and the Jewar airport, besides providing an access to the KGP Expressway from the district.

Meanwhile, the under construction DND-Faridabad-KMP Expressway, which is a part of the part of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, is reportedly on a slow pace due to certain bottlenecks.

It is 59-km long 12-lane wide access controlled expressway to connect the DND flyway junction and Ring Road at Maharani Bagh in Delhi with the KMP Expressway at Khalilpur village, Nuh, after passing from Faridabad and Palwal.
