Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, while describing the significance of a teacher in life said they not only educate, but also teach one to walk the right path. He said teachers taught the difference between right and wrong and made responsible citizens.
He was addressing a gathering at the 3rd convocation of Indira Gandhi University (IGU) at Meerpur village here on the occasion of Teacher’s Day on Thursday. IGU Vice-Chancellor JP said eight researchers received PhD degrees, 97 got gold medals and around 1,000 received their graduation and post-graduation degrees during the convocation.
Congratulating the students, the Governor said without a ‘guru’ there would be no knowledge or respect.
