The new Haryana Council of Ministers will take oath on October 15 at Panchkula with a battery of top leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president JP Nadda, Union ministers and Chief Ministers of the BJP-ruled states, set to attend the grand ceremony.

The sprawling Parade Ground in Sector 5 will be the venue for the swearing-in ceremony, with thousands of party leaders and workers from across the region expected to participate.

Sources said the ceremony would be preceded by a meeting of the BJP legislature party on October 14, in which Nayab Singh Saini — CM face of the saffron party in the 2024 Assembly poll — was expected to be chosen as the leader of the legislature party.

Senior administrative and police officials, including ADGP Alok Mittal, visited the venue on Friday to oversee the preparations.

Chief Secretary TVSN Prasad has constituted a committee under the Panchkula DC to make and oversee preparations for the function.

The sources said the Parade Ground had been chosen as the venue as it was adjoining Indradhanush Auditorium Complex, which had huge secured parking space for VVIPs. Another ground in the vicinity near a mall had been reserved as the venue.
