STUBBLE BURNING: Govt decision to register FIRs against farmers shocking, says farm leader
Accusing the state government of harassing farmers, farm leader Satpal Kaushik said the decision to register FIRs against the growers for burning stubble was shocking.
He said the government had taken an anti-farmer decision by passing the order that if the paddy residue was burnt by a farmer, he would also be deprived of the right to register his crop on the ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ portal for two years.
“The farmers of Haryana are already worried as they are not getting the payment for paddy on time due to a delay in its lifting in grain markets. Now, the government has added to the woes of the farmers by taking another anti-farmer decision,” said Kaushik.
He said the order of registering an FIR in the stubble burning case was a “dictatorial” one, adding that it should be immediately taken back.
“Farming has become a loss-making business. Now, the state government is further harassing the farmers by taking anti-farmer decisions,” said Kaushik.
