Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda emphasised the need for a strong organisational structure within the Congress and assured that efforts were underway to make it soon.

“A strong organisational structure is required. We are working on it, and the state will soon witness a stronger Congress organisational structure. Party workers and leaders will be given responsible roles,” Hooda said while talking to The Tribune. He had a brief stay at Karna Lake on Wednesday.

Working on objective

A strong organisational structure is required. We are working on it, and the state will soon witness a stronger Congress organisational structure. Party workers and leaders will be given responsible roles.

He also informed that a fact-finding committee is working to analyse the reasons behind the party's defeat in the recent Assembly elections, and the committee is expected to submit its report soon.

Hooda also urged party leaders and workers not to lose courage, and keep their morale up, pledging to continue raising public issues both on the streets and in the Assembly.

The former CM said they would reach out to party workers and leaders, motivating them to continue their fight for the rights of Haryana's people.

Criticising the BJP government, Hooda accused it of failing to resolve farmers’ issues. He said farmers had the right to hold peaceful protests and should be allowed to do so without restrictions.

Highlighting the minimum support price (MSP) issue, he alleged that the government’s claim of offering MSP on 24 crops was baseless. “There should be a legal guarantee for MSP,” he added. Hooda also pointed out the deteriorating law-and-order situation in the state, and alleged that the BJP government had failed to ensure public safety.

On the Congress decision not to field a candidate for the Rajya Sabha byelections, Hooda said: “We have already said it. We do not have the required numbers.”
