72-km railway line started in Feb: MP
Sirsa MP Kumari Selja said the 72-km Hansi-Meham-Rohtak railway line started in February and people were demanding that an intercity train be started from Sirsa at 4.30 am, which would reach Delhi by 9 am and leave Delhi at 5 pm to reach Sirsa by 10 pm.
In a letter written to the Union Minister, Selja said the train would save passengers’ time and enable them to travel to and from Delhi within a day. Selja said various organisations of Sirsa such as Adarsh Residential Welfare Committee, Bhaichara New Housing Board Colony, International Spectators-Listeners Association and Community Radio Listeners Association, among other had also raised the demand. The MP said the 72-km Hansi-Meham-Rohtak railway line was started in February, and people were demanding that an intercity train be started from Sirsa at 4.30 am which would reach Delhi by 9 am, and leave Delhi at 5 pm to reach Sirsa by 10 pm. “This will enable people to complete their work and return home within 8 hours,” she said.
