The Assandh Assembly segment has turned into a hotspot for major political rallies. Four days after BJP’s firebrand leader and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s rally in Assandh, Congress Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, is set to launch the party’s campaign ahead of the elections on Thursday.

The party leaders were working hard to make the rally successful.

Rahul Gandhi’s campaign is being seen as crucial for the Congress ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections as he is starting the campaign from the GT Road belt, which is considered to be important for forming the government.

Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Sirsa MP Kumari Selja and Rajya Sabha MP Randeep Surjewala and others will also address the gathering.

Congress leaders are confident that Gandhi’s rally will energise party workers. “All preparations have been completed for Rahul Gandhi’s arrival. His presence will boost the morale of party leaders and workers,” said Shamsher Singh Surjewala, former MLA and Congress candidate from Assandh.

Gogi expects a massive turnout. “Our workers are full of enthusiasm for Rahul Gandhi’s rally. This event will send a powerful message to the BJP. It will have a massive gathering,” he added.

To ensure the success of rally, Gogi, along with other party leaders, made extensive efforts by visiting both urban and rural areas of the constituency. Several leaders from the All India Congress Committee (AICC) have also camped in Assandh for the past couple of days to finalise the rally’s strategy and to mobilise support.

Gogi expressed his gratitude to the party for selecting Assandh as the venue for this much-anticipated rally. “It is a privilege for us that the Congress leadership has chosen Assandh for the election launch. This rally will not only benefit the candidates from Karnal but also those from the neighboring districts," he said.

“We have invited people of the segment to participate in the rally. I and other party leaders personally visited people of various villages and Assandh town to invite them. We also invited people through social media platforms,” said Gogi.

Meanwhile, the Karnal police have also made security arrangements for the rally.

When asked about the recent viral video of former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar of Hisar, Gogi said, “This is nothing new. Even when he was the CM, he used to intimidate women and remove people from public meetings if they dared to ask questions,” Gogi said, adding that the BJP had sidelined Khattar.
