Specialist docs roped in for tele-consultation
In order to provide better healthcare facilities, the state government has decided that specialist doctors of the PGIMS, Rohtak, will provide tele-consultation to their counterparts deputed at the health centres.
Prof HK Aggarwal, Vice-Chancellor, Pt Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak, said the specialist doctors would undergo training in December. He said as many as 26 specialist doctors of dental surgery, paediatrics, medicine, psychiatry, obstetrics and gynaecology, orthopaedics, dermatology, ophthalmology and ENT had been identified.
Dr Aggarwal said digitalisation of data, including patients’ files was his priority. He added that the PGIMS would eventually attain the status of a paperless institute.
The Vice-Chancellor asserted that bringing a qualitative improvement in the emergency and ICU services was among his immediate priorities. Dr Aggarwal added that he would work to improve the academic and research eco-system of the university. “The construction of central library will also be expedited to facilitate the students,” he added.
