Six held in Gohana sweets shop firing case; sent to police remand

In a major crackdown, a special investigation team (SIT) has nabbed three persons reportedly linked to the accused involved in the firing incident on a sweets shop in Gohana recently. Three other accused were arrested by the teams of the special task force (STF) of Sonepat and Rohtak after an encounter on the Kharkhoda-Barona road.
Two accused sustained bullet injuries during the encounter. The police seized four pistols and 28 cartridges, and a car from their possession, which was looted from Delhi. Commissioner of Police B Sathish Balan had constituted an SIT under the supervision of Bharti Dabas, DCP, Gohana. At a press conference in Sonepat today, Balan, along with Wasim Akram, SP (STF), said after getting a lead, the SIT arrested three youths on a motorcycle from the Gohana-Kharkhoda road last evening. They have been identified as Deepak Swami and Ram Dinesh of Sikanderpur Majra and Dipin of Sanghi village of Rohtak district.
The team also recovered the motorcycle used by three youths during the firing on the shop on January 21. A minor suspect had already been arrested in the matter, he said.
Investigation revealed that all three were linked to Rohit of Chhapar village in Jhajjar district, and did a recce of the area around the shop. They had been produced before the court, which sent them to one-day police remand, said the Gohana DCP.
Akram said the STF received a tip-off about three armed youths in a Honda City car, on the Kharkhoda-Barona road. When the STF teams reached the spot, the accused opened fire. In retaliatory fire, two accused sustained bullet injuries. The accused have been identified as ‘most wanted’ criminal Sajid Khan of Hisar district, Saurabh of Faridabad, and Jatin of Bahadurgarh. the SP stated, adding that they were given three-day police remand.

While three were arrested by the SIT, the others were nabbed by teams of the special task force after an encounter on the Kharkhoda-Barona road
