Sirsa to host ‘Run for Unity’ on October 31
In the honour of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary, a ‘Run for Unity’ will be organised on October 31 in Sirsa. The event, celebrating Patel’s contribution to national unity, will begin at 7 am from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium, with thousands of young participants expected to run, spreading the message of unity across the nation.
Sirsa City Magistrate Paras Bhagoria announced the preparations during a meeting with local officials at the mini-secretariat. Haryana’s Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Krishan Kumar Bedi will be the chief guest. As part of the planning, the authorities have been instructed to ensure smooth traffic management and security arrangements, led by the local police. The Civil Surgeon has been asked to arrange an ambulance and medical staff to support participants along the route. Furthermore, the Municipal Commissioner has been directed to ensure clean roads and make necessary repairs for a safe and welcoming path. To boost youth participation, the Sports and Education Departments will work together to encourage students and athletes to join in large numbers. Bhagoria urged residents to take part in the Run for Unity, celebrating Sardar Patel’s spirit and commitment to a united India.
