The Sirsa police have made tight security arrangements for the upcoming vote counting process and issued a special advisory for the public. Considering the tense situation that arose due to rumours spread by anti-social elements during the voting on October 5, Superintendent of Police Vikrant Bhushan appealed to the public not to engage in any activities that could disrupt law and order on the counting day, October 8.

The Deputy Commissioner of Sirsa, Shantanu Sharma, has already enforced a ban on processions and gatherings of more than five persons within 500 metres of the counting centre at CDLU, Sirsa, under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Defence Code.

To maintain law and order, approximately 2,000 police and paramilitary personnel will be deployed. Special police teams have also been formed to monitor and take action against anti-social elements. Superintendent Bhushan instructed officers to treat the public with a friendly attitude but deal strictly with troublemakers.
