Shiksha Mahakumbh concludes at Kurukshetra varsity

9 conclaves, 16 sessions of paper presentations held during two-day event

Former Rajya Sabha member Prof Rakesh Sinha on Tuesday said people should be free to express their opinions and views.He was addressing the gathering on the concluding day event of the two-day Shiksha Mahakumbh 2024 on 'Indian education system for global development' organised under the joint aegis of Department Of Holistic Education and Kurukshetra University. Rakesh Sinha said education played an important role in the overall development of a person. Giving education was not just about teaching a curriculum but about building a person. Vidya Bharati was doing unique work in the field of education, due to which the importance and need of Vidya Bharati was increasing. Rakesh Sinha said, “Information which matures our thinking, contemplation and our understanding and the information which starts influencing the economic, social and cultural environment of society is called knowledge. The qualification of a holder of knowledge is different from ordinary people because he has a sense of fearlessness and is free from fear. While reading, thinking and expressing, he only sees the future generations and not the present. His words contain the seed of the path of progress for generations. Contemplation is the vital element of Indian education system and inculcation of critical skills is very crucial for the overall development of society.”

Gobind Chandra, organising secretary, Vidya Bharti, highlighted the role of Vidya Bharti in promoting Indian values through education all over the country.Former Vice-Chancellor of MCU, Bhopal, Prof KG Suresh said the Bhartiya gyan parampara was a panacea for all world problems. Kurukshetra University Vice-Chancellor Prof Som Nath Sachdeva said the Shiksha Mahakumbh released knowledge and underscored the significance of patriotism, national pride and Indian values.The secretary of Vidya Bharti, Dr Sudesh Thakur, presented the formal report of this Shiksha Mahakumbh and said 25 institutions from Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh collaborated to organise the event.

During the two-day event, nine conclaves, 16 sessions of paper presentations in which 81 papers were presented.On the second day, scientists' conclave, media conclave, social media influencers' conclave, student leaders' conclave and principals and innovative teachers' conclave were also held.
