Two juveniles among 7 held in school owner’s abduction case
With the arrest of five persons, the district police today claimed to have solved the case of abduction of a private school owner Rakesh Kumar of Mohalla Kayasthwada, Narnaul. The incident took place in the Narnaul area on Friday. A motorbike and car used in the crime have also been recovered and impounded from them. Significantly, two juveniles have also been detained in the case.
Pooja Vashishtha, Superintendent of Police (SP), said the accused were identified as Rajesh, alias Raju, of Khairoli village, Dinesh, alias Chhotiya, and Ashish of Kurahavta, Arun of Pal village and Alok of Nihalwas village in the district.
All accused were taken on two-day remand to get more information about the crime while the juveniles were sent to juvenile home in Faridabad. Rajesh was the accused in a case of murder that was registered in Rajasthan, she added.
“Rakesh Kumar had bought Chanakya Public School at Bapdoli village here in the beginning of the current year and Arun had some monetary transactions with the previous owner of the school, hence Arun along with others hatched a plot to recover the amount from Rakesh. As per the plan, the recovered amount was to be distributed among all accused,” said the SP.
The district police spokesman said Rakesh was abducted by the accused when he was returning home from the school on his scooty on Friday afternoon. As soon as Rakesh reached near Jodhadass Temple, Mehrampur, three accused waylaid him and bundled him into the car. Two others were also sitting inside the car. They took him to a dense forest in Budeen village located on the Rajasthan border and sought Rs 50 lakh from him, he added.
“When Rakesh refused to fulfil the demand, the accused sought Rs 25 lakh from him but he denied this amount too. Thereafter, the accused digitally transferred Rs 50,000 twice and Rs 62,000 to an account of a private firm from Rakesh’s cell phone. Then, the accused damaged his sim card and fled the spot after leaving him in the forest. He somehow reached Budeen village and made a call to his friend from a villager’s cell phone,” said the spokesman.
He said that the police on getting information about the crime swung into action and reached the spot. Rakesh’s bank account was blocked immediately so that the accused could not use the money. The process had been initiated to get the amount reimbursed to the victim. Two more accused were yet to be arrested in the case, he added.
