The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to stay the oath taking ceremony of Nayab Saini-led government in Haryana and cautioned the petitioner that it might impose costs on him for filing such a frivolous petition.

“Do you want us to stall the oath taking of an elected government? We are putting you on guard. We will impose costs. Circulate the papers. We will see…” a three-judge Bench led by CJI DY Chandrachud told the petitioner counsel who mentioned the matter for urgent hearing. It asked the petitioner to circulate three copies of the petition for the three-judge Bench and went on to dismiss it before the end of the day’s proceedings.
