Resolving issues in a time-bound manner
We try to resolve the issues on the spot, but in some cases there is a requirement of field visit. We are trying to resolve all complaints in a time-bound manner. Cases related to other matters except encroachments will be resolved in a week. — Niraj Kadiyan, Commissioner, KMC-cum-District Municipal Commissioner
The Karnal Municipal Corporation received 70 complaints, of which 36 were resolved, while 34 are pending. Similarly, Nilokheri Municipal Committee (MC) resolved all 10 complaints. All 13 complaints at the Taraori MC, 17 at the Gharaunda MC, 16 complaints at Assandh and six at the Nissing MC were resolved. Besides, seven out of eight complaints at the Indri MC were resolved.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has directed that a ‘Samadhan Shivir’ be held in the civic bodies from October 22, under which, MC officials would hold camps in their offices between 9 am and 11am. The initiative has been taken for promptly redressing public grievances.
As per the officials, most of the complaints were related to property IDs, followed by land, encroachment, building branch and other departments.
“We try to resolve the issues on the spot, but in some cases there is a requirement of field visit. We are trying to resolve all complaints in a time-bound manner. Cases related to other matters except encroachments will be resolved in a week,” said Niraj Kadiyan, Commissioner, KMC-cum-District Municipal Commissioner.
He said officials of all branches of all seven civic bodies sit at designated places to assist the complainants.
On Tuesday, the offices of these seven civic bodies received 17 complaints. Of them, 16 were resolved on the spot, while the remaining one has been assigned for resolution within a specific timeframe, with instructions issued to relevant officials and staff, said the Commissioner.
Kadiyan emphasised that each complaint received at the “Samadhan Shivir” camps should be taken seriously and swift solutions should be provided to citizens. He directed all branch heads to expedite the resolution process and ensure any pending issues were addressed promptly. If a complaint cannot be resolved immediately, the officials must ensure it is addressed within a designated time period.
“People can come to the designated places of these civic bodies to raise their issues between 9 am and 11am,” he said.
