Haryana CM Nayab Saini rules out change in BJP candidate list
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has ruled out the possibility of any change in the candidates announced by the BJP or allocation of party ticket for the state Assembly elections.
“Many leaders wanted the ticket, but only one can get the ‘lotus’ symbol from a constituency. The resentment of the others is natural, and the resentful ones will be placated,” said the Chief Minister, who was in Rohtak to attend an organisational meeting at the BJP’s state office on Friday.
Asked about Olympian wrestler Vinesh Phogat joining the Congress, Saini said Vinesh was the country’s daughter and she could join any political party and contest elections as she wished.
He, however, alleged that the Congress indulges in politics in the name of sportspersons and soldiers. “The Congress has realised that it cannot win the elections and it is planning to join hands with the corrupt,” remarked Saini.
The Chief Minister claimed that the BJP would form the government for the third consecutive time in Haryana, adding that the party leadership had already prepared a roadmap for the state.
Disgruntled Kamboj leaves for Delhi
Yamunanagar: Disgruntled BJP leader Karan Dev Kamboj left for Delhi, where he would meet Haryana election-co-incharge Biplab Kumar Deb seeking party ticket from either the Radaur constituency or Indri segment of Karnal district. A day ago, CM Saini met him at his residence in Yamunanagar in a bid to pacify him. He held a meeting with party workers in Radaur town on Friday to discuss his future course of action. He said the supporters wanted him to contest the Assembly election. “I am today going to Delhi to meet Haryana election co-incharge Biplab Kumar Deb. I will demand a ticket from either Radaur or Indri. If I am denied a party ticket, I will be forced to contest the election as an Independent candidate,” Karan Dev Kamboj told The Tribune.
