Jhajjar, September 1

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today gave a befitting reply to the Opposition leaders who claimed that the CM is not getting any safe seat to contest the Assembly elections.

“All Assembly seats in the state are mine and I can contest from any seat. We are fully prepared for the elections and the BJP is going to form the government in the state for the third time with a thumping majority. The first list of the party candidates will be released soon,” Saini claimed while interacting with the media here.

The Chief Minister, accompanied by state BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli and party national secretary Om Prakash Dhankar, arrived here to attend a social function in Silani village here.

Olympic bronze medallist and wrestling star Aman Sehrawat was also present at the function. The Chief Minister extended his best wishes to the wrestler for upcoming international tournaments. He said Aman had made not only Haryana but the entire nation proud by clinching a medal in the Paris Olympics.

On being asked that the Congress is raising questions over the BJP’s demand for the change in poll dates, the CM said the Congress was expert in spreading propaganda but it would not succeed in it as the people had known its real face.

“Not only the BJP but other political parties and people of the Bishnoi community also sent their representations to the Election Commission of India (ECI), requesting it to change the polling date in view of a major religious function of the Bishnoi community on October 1. The ECI has the authority to change the poll schedule but the Congress is habitual of seeing politics in every issue,” Saini said.

He claimed that in the representation, people belonging to the Bishnoi community had stated that lakhs of people of their community attend the religious function, hence they would be deprived of exercising their franchise if the polling date is not changed. Taking cognisance of it, the ECI decided to revise the poll date.

“It is the responsibility of the ECI to ensure participation of maximum people in the elections, hence the poll date has been revised but the Congress is trying to mislead the people by doing propaganda to gain political mileage,” the CM said.
