Saffron party’s state Kisan Morcha chief too switches party

In a major setback to the BJP, Haryana BJP Kisan morcha state president and former MLA from Badhra Assembly constituency in Charkhi Dadri district Sukhvinder Sheoran Mandi on Saturday joined the Congress.

Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Congress state president Udai Bhan welcomed Sukhvinder into the partyfold. Sukhvinder had won the 2014 elections on BJP ticket but lost to JJP’s Naina Chautala in 2019.

He was upset with the party after being denied the ticket. He had resigned from the BJP on September 4. Later, he held a meeting of his supporters in which he targeted the BJP for denying ticket to him. “I have been associated with the BJP for the last 18 years and have worked for the party and the BJP government in all honesty,” he stated.

Meanwhile, another BJP leader and chairman of Barwala Municipal Committee Ramesh Batterywala also quit the party on Saturday.
