Misused his position

Zila Parishad vice-chairman Anil Hooda misused his position and put pressure on Panchayati Raj officers in an illegal manner to get undue benefit for his firm. — Manju Hooda, Chairperson, Rohtak Zila Parishad

“Zila Parishad vice-chairman Anil Hooda misused his position and put pressure on Panchayati Raj officers in an illegal manner to get undue benefit for his firm, regarding which an FIR has also been registered,” said the chairperson, adding that the state government had been apprised of the matter and urged to take appropriate action in this regard. She further said the local Superintendent of Police had also been asked to take action against the representatives of certain parishad members who attended the last meeting of the House in an unauthorised manner and disrupted the proceedings.

On the other hand, parishad vice-chairman Anil Hooda, and member Dheeraj Malik said they were being targeted as they had prevented the embezzlement of Rs 3.95 crore by the chairperson.

“We had written to the Deputy Commissioner for an inquiry into the matter. Hence, she is initiating action against us out of frustration,” said Anil Hooda and Dheeraj Malik.

In a statement issued earlier today, the parishad chairperson said four members of the parishad, including the vice-chairman, have been debarred from attending the next meeting of the House. As per the official statement, parishad vice-chairman Anil Hooda and members Dheeraj, Amit Rangi and Sonu Pilana have been barred from attending the forthcoming House meeting.

“The said members were marked absent at the previous meeting as they disrupted the proceedings during the meeting, put undue pressure on the officers concerned for getting their unconstitutional demands met and used objectionable language against the chief executive officer of the parishad,” said Manju Hooda.

Disciplinary action has also been taken against parishad member Deepika for using objectionable language against another woman member, she added.

Meanwhile, the members, including those against whom the action has been taken, have refuted the charges against them and asserted that the chairperson did not have the power to take or recommend action against the elected members of the parishad.
