Rohtak varsity shifts counselling venue
The authorities of Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences (UHS), Rohtak, have shifted the venue of counselling for MBBS, BDS and postgraduate courses for the convenience of candidates and their family members.
Earlier, the counselling was held at the PGIMS Director’s office, where there was no place to sit for the candidates and their parents accompanying them. The candidates and their parents had to wait in the open till late in the night as the counselling process often continued till the wee hours.
This year, the UHS authorities have organised the counselling at the Sushruta Auditorium, where the candidates and their parents can be seated comfortably and have access to the basic amenities such as drinking water and washrooms etc.
The auditorium is air-conditioned and has a seating arrangement for nearly 1,500 people as well as adequate parking space.
“Tea and refreshments have also been arranged for the candidates and their parents visiting the university for counselling as a courteous gesture,” said Dr Sanjay Tewari, Principal, PGIDS, who was looking after the arrangements made for the visitors.
He stated that the counselling was conducted by the Department of Medical Education and Research (DMER) of the Haryana Government and organised under the chairmanship of the UHS Dean (Academic Affairs), Prof (Dr) Dhruva Chaudhry.
“Good arrangements were made by the university authorities, who took care of our convenience and requirements,” said Omkaram Matta, who had come for the counselling of his daughter from New Delhi.
