With the aim of creating the habit of reading books among students, the seventh book fair was organised at Vivekanand Library of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) in Rohtak.

Book launches, discussions and other literary programmes were organised during the three-day event.

Congress MLA from Rohtak Bharat Bhushan Batra visited the book fair and interacted with litterateurs, book-lovers, students and teachers.

"Books are our true friends and all of us should develop the habit of reading good books," said the MLA, adding that the knowledge one got by reading books was reflected in his personality and conduct.

MDU Vice-Chancellor Prof Rajbir Singh said in the age of digitisation, there was a need to promote book culture. He stated that books contained a storehouse of knowledge, by acquiring which a person could achieve success.

Prof Sudhi Rajeev, Vice-Chancellor of Hardev Joshi Journalism University, Jaipur; Prof Bhim Singh Dahiya, former Vice-Chancellor of Kurukshetra University; and Prof Pramod Mehra from IGNOU also visited the book fair.
