Rocky Mittal, former chairman of the special publicity cell of the Haryana Government, was produced today at a Kaithal court and sent to judicial custody.
He was arrested by a joint team of the Panchkula and Kaithal police from his house in Sector 4, Panchkula, on Tuesday morning in connection with a case registered on May 18, 2015 when Munish Mittal, a commission agent, was murdered at the new grain market. Commission agents had blocked the road in protest against the murder. As per the police, Rocky Mittal was among the protesters and had blocked the way when a judge was crossing from the area. It was alleged that Rocky had not only misbehaved with the judge but also assaulted him. He was in police custody as the police had to recover a blue beacon of the judge vehicle.
As per the advocate of Mittal, the police had sought remand to recover blue beacon, but the police did not find anything. They will approach the Session Court for the bail.
