With the BJP securing victory in all five Assembly segments of the district, residents of Karnal district are demanding representation in the Nayab Singh Saini government. They urged the BJP leadership to consider their sentiments when forming the new Cabinet.

Supporters of Harvinder Kalyan, who secured a hat-trick from Gharaunda, are making a strong case for his inclusion in the Cabinet, saying he is reliable and a dedicated leader. Kalyan’s supporters believe his consistent performance and deep connection with the people of Gharaunda make him a prime candidate for a ministerial role.

“Kalyan should be included in the Cabinet as he has been elected for the third consecutive term. He is a dedicated and honest politician. He has been active among people for the past several years,” said Pardeep Kumar, a resident.

The Karnal Assembly, which remained the home constituency of former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for nine and a half years and Nayab Singh Saini for nearly four months (2014-2024), newly elected MLA Jagmohan Anand, a prominent Punjabi face, was being viewed as a strong contender for a Cabinet berth.

Anand’s supporters claim that Karnal, which enjoyed the status of being a CM city for a decade, deserves to have Cabinet representation. “Karnal has been a key city for the BJP and should be recognised by including Jagmohan Anand in the Cabinet,” said Amit Ahuja, a resident. The supporters of Yoginder Singh Rana, who won from Assandh, are also pushing for a Cabinet position for him. Rana made a remarkable debut by defeating Congress stalwart Shamsher Singh Gogi, which his supporters claim is an achievement that should not go unnoticed. They believe, Rana’s victory is a clear signal of his potential of contributing meaningfully to the state’s governance.

In Indri, Ram Kumar Kashyap has secured his second consecutive victory and his supporters are hopeful that this will increase his chances of being appointed as a minister. Additionally, in Nilokheri, Bhagwan Das Kabirpanthi made a significant comeback after 10 years. Kabirpanthi won the seat in 2014 but was defeated in 2019, only to reclaim his position in the latest election.

Jagmohan Anand also a contender
