Remove encroachments from roads, green belts, DC tells officials

Rohtak Deputy Commissioner Dhirendra Khadagta has directed district officials of different departments to ensure that the problems of citizens related to electricity, drinking water and sewerage are resolved on priority with promptness.

The Deputy Commissioner was listening to the grievances of residents at the Samadhan Shivir organised in Rohtak on Monday.

As many as 21 complaints were received at the camp. After hearing the complaints, Khadgata instructed the heads/senior officials of the departments concerned to do the needful for the redressal of grievances of the residents.

He instructed the officials of the Public Works Department (PWD) and Urban Local Bodies to remove all encroachments from the footpaths and green belts along the roads in the areas under their respective jurisdictions.

"Apart from this, if there is encroachment anywhere, it should be removed with immediate effect," said the Deputy Commissioner.

He directed the officials of the Panchayat Department that if there was any illegal occupation on any chunk of panchayat or shamlat land, it should be removed as per the rules so that the people did not face inconvenience.

During the samadhan camp, Khadgata instructed the officials of different departments involved in the construction of roads to get the potholes under their jurisdiction repaired before the arrival of winter season.

He asked the officials of the Public Health Department to plug the leakage of drinking water and sewerage with immediate effect and ensure the provision of clean and sufficient drinking water to the residents.

As per the instructions of the state government, samadhan shivirs are being organised at the district headquarters to redress the grievances of the residents from 9.30 am to 11.30 am on all working days.

Such camps are also being organised by the Departments of Panchayat and Urban Local Bodies.

The residents raised problems related to drinking water, electricity, sewerage, family IDs, removal of encroachments, old-age pension and illegal occupation of land etc.

The residents of Lakhan Majra village demanded the removal of illegal encroachment from the Maiharwali pond of the village and opening of the Gau Ghat.

The residents of Bahu Akbarpur village demanded the disposal of dirty water from the village and reconstruction of the road from Bahu Akbarpur to Samar Gopalpur.

The residents of Vishal Nagar demanded clean and sufficient drinking water, while the residents of Bohar village demanded that the sanitation system of the village be improved and CCTV cameras should be installed at the municipal park.

The residents of Friends Colony demanded solutions to sewerage and drinking water problems.

ACUT Abhinav Siwach, City Magistrate Ankit Kumar, District Development and Panchayat Officer Rajpal Chahal, District Revenue Officer Kanab Lakra along with the officials of the other related departments were present.
