An internal survey conducted by the Congress revealed that the party lost 16 seats in the recently held Haryana Assembly elections due to rebel candidates.

The survey points out that the number of votes polled by rebel candidates was considerably higher than the margin by which Congress candidates lost the elections.

As per the survey, the Congress candidate lost the Kalka seat by a margin of about 11,000 votes, while the rebel candidate in that constituency polled nearly 32,000 votes.

The Congress nominee finished third in the Pundri constituency from where the rebel candidate polled nearly 40,000 votes and lost by a margin of nearly 2,200 votes.

The Congress candidate in the Rai constituency lost by a margin of nearly 4,600 votes, whereas the rebel candidate polled nearly 12,000 votes.

In the Gohana Assembly segment, the rebel candidate polled nearly 15,000 votes, while the BJP defeated the Congress by nearly 10,000 votes.

The Congress nominee lost the Safidon segment by nearly 4,000 votes, while two rebel candidates polled nearly 29,000 votes.

Two rebel candidates polled nearly 7,000 votes in the Dadri constituency where the Congress nominee lost by nearly 2,000 votes. The Congress rebel got nearly 57,000 votes in the Tigaon segment and lost by nearly 37,000 votes, while the Congress candidate finished third.

In Ambala Cantt also, the Congress finished third, while the party rebel got nearly 53,000 votes and lost by around 7,200 votes.

The Congress candidate lost by a margin of nearly 2,300 votes, while the rebel got nearly 16,000 votes in the Assandh Assembly segment.

The Congress rebel got more than 31,000 votes, while the party’s official nominee lost by a thin margin of just 32 votes in the Uchana Kalan constituency.

Similarly, the Congress rebel polled nearly 27,000 votes in Badhra where the party’s nominee lost by nearly 7,500 votes.

In Mahendragarh, the Congress candidate lost by around 2,600 votes, while the rebel got nearly 21,000 votes.

The Congress nominee lost in the Sohna constituency by nearly 11,000 votes, while two Independent (rebel) candidates polled nearly 70,000 votes.

The Congress rebel polled nearly 44,000 votes and lost by nearly 17,000 votes, while the party’s official nominee finished fourth in Ballabhgarh.

The Congress nominee lost by just 610 votes in Dabwali, where three Independent (rebel) candidates polled nearly 2,000 votes.

The Congress rebel won the Bahadurgarh seat as an Independent, while the party’s official nominee finished third.
