Rana urges farmers to recycle paddy stubble for soil health

State Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana today urged farmers not to burn paddy stubble, stressing the benefits of mixing crop residue back into the soil to improve productivity and protect the environment. The minister met residents of villages, including Akbarpur, Chamrori, Topra, Marupur, Sagri, and Nachron in the Radaur Assembly segment of Yamunanagar during his gratitude programme.

Addressing the gathering, Rana said, “Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the country is experiencing inclusive development, and similarly, Chief Minister Nayab Saini is ensuring equal progress for all regions of Haryana.”

At Modhli village, he encouraged people to share their concerns openly, assuring them of government support. “Our government is committed to the welfare of Haryana’s farmers. By avoiding stubble burning, farmers can preserve soil fertility, which is beneficial for the environment. Mixing stubble back into the soil boosts its fertility, reduces fertiliser needs, and enhances crop yield, benefitting farmers economically as well,” he said.

During his visit to Sagri village, Rana emphasised the government’s commitment to fulfilling residents' demands, saying, “All village needs will be addressed, and grants will be provided for development. While Congress leaders prioritised personal gains, the BJP government works transparently. We will continue to provide jobs based on merit and uphold our promises.”
