PWD minister Gangwa gets into action mode, says will improve civic infra
The new Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) and Public Works Department (PWD) minister, Ranbir Gangwa, has set the tone for the redress of grievances of people in Hisar district related to water supply, sewerage and drainage system, and broken roads.
Gangwa, an MLA from Barwala, has asked the district administration to undertake public welfare projects and said there would be no paucity of funds. He said he was aware of the condition of the civic infrastructure related to sewerage and drainage in Hisar and Barwala, and said he would set it in order.
With PHED and PWD portfolios with Gangwa, residents are hoping that civic infrastructure will transform not only these towns but also the entire district.
Barwala residents Sher Singh, Subhash Midha, Sanjay, Pal Mehta, Sonu Garg and Sita Ram Jogi said people were happy that their representative had become a minister. “We hope that Gangwa will improve the condition of Barwala, which has been facing a number of civic problems,” said Sher Singh.
Hisar and Barwala have been grappling with the problem of choked sewers, lack of drainage and dilapidated roads. These issues had dominated the Hisar Assembly segment during the elections, resulting in the defeat of BJP MLA and health minister Kamal Gupta.
However, Gangwa, who was shifted from his erstwhile Nalwa Assembly segment to Barwala constituency by the BJP to contest the poll, assured the residents that he would get rid of the problem pertaining to stagnant rainwater and would work to ensure proper drainage and sewerage.
