Sirsa, July 17

Sirsa MP Kumari Selja has criticised the BJP government’s “ineffective” policies, alleging that these had led to widespread distress among the state’s citizens. She alleged that whether in offices or hospitals, people were suffering. She said patients were recently troubled due to a doctors’ strike and now, registry and mutation processes had been stalled due to the strike of computer operators. This strike is severely affecting not just the employees but also the general public, she said.

Govt unresponsive

Doctors in state hospitals went on a strike, yet the government remained unresponsive… Moreover, the indefinite strike by computer professionals disrupted various services. — Kumari Selja, MP

In a statement to the media, Selja stated that the public had appreciated none of the BJP policies, which had become burdensome for both employees and other people. “Protests and strikes against government policies are widespread, creating a sense of insecurity among the people,” she said. Selja asserted that a government that failed to provide basic amenities and made citizens feel unsafe had no right to remain in power. She said that doctors in state hospitals went on strike, yet the government remained unresponsive despite warnings from the Haryana Civil Medical Association. With only about 3,000 doctors in government hospitals instead of the required 10,000, the patient load per doctor is overwhelming. The doctors’ demands have been persistently ignored, with the government offering only empty promises, she alleged

Moreover, the indefinite strike by computer professionals had caused significant revenue losses and inconvenience to people, disrupting various services such as land registration, caste certificates and vehicle registration, she said.

Selja promised that under the Congress government, public-friendly policies would be implemented to prevent strikes and alleviate public hardships.
