The Jan Nayak Janata Party (JJP) and Azad Samaj Party (ASP) (Kansi Ram) have announced to support Deepak Dagar, an Independent candidate from the Prithla segment in the district, in the ongoing Assembly elections.

The announcement comes after the JJP-ASP candidate Giriraj Jatola decided to leave the JJP and support the Congress candidate Raghubir Singh Tewatia from the seat at a programme on Sunday.

A JJP spokesperson on Monday said the decision was taken this morning after Dagar met JJP leader Dushyant Chautala and ASP’s Chandrashekhar Azad in Delhi.

He further claimed that both the Congress and the BJP were wary about the growing popularity of the JJP-ASP alliance. He alleged that these parties had been adopting all means and tactics to wean away its candidates, who were in a good position.

Describing the move of the party candidate from Prithla to join the Congress as an example of political conspiracy, he said the people of the area would give a befitting reply to the Congress for such activities.
