‘Delhi ka damaad’

Gurugram: Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s obsession with 3Ds of the Congress regime (dealer, damaad and dalal) continues unabated. At a series of rallies across Haryana on Sunday, Shah coined a new moniker “Delhi ka Damaad” obviously to target the Congress’ first family.

Deepender hints at CM ambition

Gurugram: Just five days ahead of polls, Rohtak Congress MP Deepender Hooda hinted at his ambition of becoming the next Chief Minister. Addressing a rally in Badshahpur in support of Vardhan Yadav, Deepender said if Vardhan wins and reaches Chandigarh, he (Deepender) would also reach there. “He and I will be your double-engine and we will address your concerns,” Deepender said while ‘hinting’ that he would be the CM and Vardhan could become his Deputy.

Fearing hostility, netas skip localities

Faridabad: Candidates contesting the Assembly elections want to reach out to maximum number of voters during their door-to-door campaign. However, the candidates, especially those belonging to the ruling party, are avoid localities which lack the basic amenities, fearing hostility from residents. Some leaders are sending their representatives in advance to ensure that all is well.

Dhankar: Leader or artiste!

Jhajjar: Former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda recently mocked BJP national secretary and party’s candidate from Badli Om Prakash Dhankar by calling him an “artiste” at a public meeting. “Dhankar is like an artiste of ‘Saang’ (Haryana’s folk theatre). His place is in Mumbai, not in Badli. Send him to Mumbai as he will do better there. Sometimes, he laughs and also cries, and I have even seen him doing so in the Vidhan Sabha,” he said.

Crowd-puller Yogi

Yamunanagar: Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath enjoys popularity in Haryana as well. He had addressed two election rallies on Saturday in Yamunanagar district. While candidates of different political parties are having a tough time in pulling crowd during their rallies, Yogi’s popularity helped the party draw a massive gathering during the campaign.

‘Mini Canada’ aloof from poll frenzy

Fatehabad: In the Tohana constituency of Fatehabad district, Digoh village, also known as ‘Mini Canada’, remains aloof from the election frenzy. With more than 210 of its 725 voters settled abroad, the village focuses more on international politics rather than Assembly elections here.

BJP veteran ‘tastes’ VVIP security

Mahendragarh: Former minister and BJP veteran Ram Bilas Sharma got his first experience of VVIP security during the rally of UP CM Yogi Adityanath at Bhojawas village on Saturday. He was stopped from going to the dais by security personnel when Yogi was addressing the gathering. As soon as Yogi noticed Sharma, he immediately asked the security to let him come to the stage stating that Sharmaji is our former state president. As expected, Yogi and Sharma met warmly on the dais.
