Poll officials scrutinise documents as candidates engage in evaluation
While candidates and their supporters remained busy in assessing voting trends, senior election officials appointed by the Election Commission of India scrutinised the election documents of all Assembly constituencies today. Officials of the district Election Department including the general observers held a meeting in presence of the Returning Officers(RO) of the respective Assembly constituencies and examined the documents related to election processes including Section 17-A.The documents which were checked include the diary of the presiding officers of the booths, visit sheet of officials, etc.
Meanwhile, candidates spent their day discussing polling trends and voting patterns. Lalit Nagar, an Independent candidate who contested from Tigaon Assembly segment, said he discussed the voting pattern in detail at all booths with his supporters and workers. Neeraj Sharma , outgoing MLA and Congress candidate from NIT Assembly segment, said that he spent several hours in evaluating polling, he had received positive feedback regarding his victory.
Sharda Rathore, Independent MLA from Ballabgarh, said that she discussed the outcome of polling with her supporters. Cabinet Minister and BJP candidate Mool Chand Sharma, also held a meeting over tea with supporters and workers on Sunday morning.
