In a bid to secure votes, all major political parties are focusing their efforts on winning over voters from diverse communities in Yamunanagar district, particularly in the Jagadhri assembly constituency. To achieve this, parties are deploying their prominent campaigners to canvass in areas with significant community voter populations.

Jagadhri city, renowned for its brass and steel utensils industry, has a substantial number of voters from the Vaish/Baniya community, which plays a crucial role in election outcomes. Recently, Arvind Kejriwal, national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), participated in a roadshow in Jagadhri on September 20, organised by AAP candidate Adarsh Pal Gurjar.

Political observers note that Adarsh Pal enjoys strong support among rural voters and aims to bolster his chances by gaining traction among Jagadhri’s Baniya voters, traditionally considered a BJP stronghold. Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a rally in Jagadhri on September 23, primarily benefiting BJP candidate Kanwar Pal Gujjar.

Other notable leaders, including Kurukshetra BJP MP Naveen Jindal and industrialist Venod Sharma, have attended various political events in the district. While the Baniya vote bank has historically aligned with BJP, candidates from other parties are also vying for support within this community.

In Radaur town, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini addressed a rally on September 25, as BJP fields Shyam Singh Rana in the Radaur assembly segment, which is considered a stronghold of Saini community votes.
