The absence of the BJP’s Adampur MLA Bhavya Bishnoi and his father and former MP Kuldeep Bishnoi in the yesterday’s state-level function attended by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has set political circles abuzz. The father-son duo though were present in Hisar district and attended functions in the Adampur assembly segment.
The function was held in Arya Nagar village of the Nalwa Assembly constituency in the district yesterday which was attended by the BJP MLAs, including Hisar MLA and Health Minister Kamal Gupta, Nalwa MLA and Deputy Speaker Ranbir Gangwa and Hansi MLA Vinod Bhyana besides the JJP MLA from Barwala.
BJP district president Asha Khedar said: “All MLAs from the region were sent the invites. Though I could not attend the function as I was out of station, all MLAs who were in Hisar were supposed to attend it”.
Bhavya Bishnoi could not be contacted. However, a spokesperson for the Bishnois Mohit Sharma said Kuldeep Bishnoi and Bhavya Bishnoi had scheduled programmes in their own Adampur segment. “They have some more programmes in their own segment and will stay in Hisar at night as well”, he said. However, a close aide of Kuldeep Bishnoi and Randhir Panihar attended the CM’s function.
Supporters of Kuldeep had expressed their unhappiness with the BJP after he was denied the Lok Sabha ticket from Hisar in the Lok Sabha elections. Congress candidate Jai Prakash won the Hisar Lok Sabha seat.
Bishnoi had also stayed away from the electioneering for some time and joined the party’s campaign after Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini visited him at his Delhi residence. Later, BJP candidate Ranjit Singh too had taken exception to the party’s campaign in Adampur and Nalwa assembly segments – both the segments have considerable influence of Bishnois.
