The Gurugram police seized over Rs 9 lakh illegal Indian currency notes from a man in Nathupur village. Upon investigation, he could not submit any proof and the police informed the same to the Income Tax Department for further action.

According to the police, the team of Sikandarpur crime branch received information that a tenant living in a house in Nathupur village had illegal Indian currency. The team raided the spot and informed the owner of the house. The tenant Dharambir, a resident of Hardoi, UP, was given a notice.

“The police recovered cash worth Rs 9.3 from the house. Dharambir was interrogated regarding the cash but he could not give a satisfactory answer,” Gurugram police spokesperson said.
