In a major operation, Sirsa police apprehended a man with 82 grams of heroin, worth lakhs, in the Ding area. The suspect, identified as Sandeep, alias Kapil, is a resident of Bani village of the district.

Acting on a tip-off, the anti-narcotics cell (ANC) team, led by sub-inspector Praveen Kumar, were patrolling in the Ding area when they spotted a car approaching. On seeing the police vehicle, the driver abruptly tried to turn the car around and flee, arousing suspicion. The police quickly intercepted the car and conducted a thorough search, discovering 82 grams of heroin in Sandeep’s possession.

An FIR was registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Ding police station. Initial investigations revealed that the heroin was sourced from Delhi and was intended for distribution in Sirsa and nearby regions. The police plan to present Sandeep in court to obtain a remand, during which they hope to uncover more details about the drug trafficking network linked to him.
