Superintendent of Police (SP) Vikrant Bhushan urged medical store owners to actively support the police in their anti-drug campaign and play a vital role in creating a drug-free society. Speaking at a meeting with medical store owners and representatives at the Rori police station, Bhushan emphasised that their cooperation could significantly strengthen efforts to curb drug abuse.

The SP highlighted that while the police were cracking down on drug traffickers, strict action was also being taken against those selling prohibited drugs. He urged store owners to avoid selling restricted medicines and ensure that drugs were dispensed only with valid prescriptions.

Addressing a separate meeting with the villagers and youth in Bhadra, the SP called on parents to monitor their children’s activities and encourage them to focus on education and sports. The villagers pledged their full support for the anti-drug drive.

Bhushan warned against running medical stores on rented licences, calling it illegal. He said all medical stores in the district were being inspected in collaboration with local authorities and violations would result in strict action.

To improve coordination, the police plan to create a WhatsApp group with store owners and conduct monthly review meetings. The SP also appealed to the public to report any suspicious drug-related activities at medical stores. "Together, we can make the anti-drug campaign a success," he said.
