Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Panipat on December 9 to launch the ‘Bima Sakhi’ scheme for women from here. Notably, he also launched the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign from Panipat on January 22, 2015.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday visited the venue of the event at Sector 13/17 to review the arrangements made by the district administration. He said the programme would spread a strong message of women empowerment, adding that the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign launched from Panipat saved lives of lakhs of girl children.

He said the people in the state had given a positive message of development by registering a historic victory, the effect of which was also visible in the Maharashtra elections. ‘Women are getting benefits of various schemes implemented by the Centre and the state,” he said.
