Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday penned an emotional letter to javelin sensation Neeraj Chopra’s mother who sent home-made churma, a Haryanavi delicacy, for the PM.
”Yesterday I got a chance to meet Neeraj at the dinner hosted for the Jamaican prime minister. My joy knew no bounds when Neeraj gave me the churma you prepared. After having it I could not help writing to you. I felt so emotional. This affection the gift you sent for me reminded me of my mother,” PM wrote in the letter to Saroj Devi.
He said a mother is an embodiment of power, compassion and sacrifice.
“It is a coincidence that I have received your prasad on the eve of Navratri. Your churma has become my main food on the eve of fasting. Just like your churma energises Neeraj and helps him win medals for the country, it will help give me the energy to fast over the next nine days,’ said Modi.
In the same letter the PM reassured the women folk that he would continue to work with dedication to realise the goal of developed India.
