PM announces expansion of ESIC Hospital, several new projects for state
The ESIC Hospital in Faridabad will soon see its bed capacity increased from 650 to 1,150. Additionally, a 15-bed Community Health Centre (CHC) of AIIMS will be established at Fatehpur Billauch village, and a Centre of Excellence for Air Pollution and Health will be developed at the AIIMS sub-centre in Ballabgarh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced these expansions while laying the foundation stone for various health projects across Haryana virtually today.
Haryana's Health and Family Welfare Minister, Arti Rao, Ballabgarh MLA Moolchand Sharma, Prithla MLA Raghubir Tewatia, and senior district health officials attended the live event broadcasted in Faridabad.
A district administration spokesperson outlined the plans, noting that the ESIC Hospital will receive a new 10-storied building, including a basement, at an estimated cost of Rs 625 crore. The AIIMS CHC with 15 beds will be constructed in Fatehpur Billauch village, and the Centre of Excellence for Air Pollution and Health will focus on critical research at the AIIMS Sub-Health Centre in Ballabgarh.
During the virtual programme, which included health projects worth around Rs 13,000 crore across the state, Health Minister Arti Rao described the initiatives as a “festive gift” to bolster Haryana’s healthcare system. She also released the Health Department’s State Action Plan on Climate Change and Human Health, adding that the Centre of Excellence on Air Pollution will be built at a cost of Rs 50 lakh.
