‘People revere cows…who can stop them’: Haryana CM Nayab Saini on Dadri lynching

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini addressed the recent Charkhi Dadri lynching case, where a man from West Bengal was killed by cow vigilantes over suspicion of consuming beef. While condemning the incident, Saini emphasised that people in Haryana revere cows and if they sense any untoward situation, “who can stop them?”

Saini stated that the Haryana assembly has passed a strict law for cow protection and there will be no compromise on it. He urged people not to get involved in such incidents, but defended the law, saying it’s not right to label such incidents as “mob lynching”.

The Haryana Police arrested seven persons, including two minors, associated with the Bharatiya Gau Raksha Dal, for the murder of Saabir Malik, who was beaten up on suspicion of eating beef.
