People put stamp of approval on BJP policies: Khap leader
National convener of the Sarv Jatia khap panchayat and former pradhan of Kandela khap, Tekram Kandela, who joined the BJP just before the Assembly elections, said the mandate of people in Haryana had put the stamp of approval on the policies of the Central and state governments.
The khap leader, who met Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini along with other members of the khap panchayat, said the allegations being levelled by the Congress about the tampering of the EVMs were an attempt to mislead people.
Kandela appreciated the BJP government in Haryana, stating that the BJP government had been undertaking pro-people policies. This pace of the growth and development would continue with the return of the BJP to the government in the state, he said.
“Now that the people have given a complete majority to the BJP, it indicated that the decisions taken by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini soon after assuming the charge of the CM’s post for the first time, have gone down well with the people of the state,” he said, adding that he took many commendable decisions, including procurement of 24 crops on the minimum support price (MSP).
He said the Haryana Government was committed to buying the crops of millet and pulses on the MSP. “The Chief Minister and other MLAs of the BJP have been going to the mandis of the state and solving all problems of farmers and to ensure that every grain of the farmers be purchased on the MSP,” he said.
Terming the BJP as farmer-friendly, the khap leader said that farmers played an important role in the victory of the BJP. While targeting the Congress, Kandela said whenever the Congress loses an election, it blames EVMs. “It is ridiculous that in the states where Congress forms government, EVMs are fine but when it loses the poll, Congress leaders start blaming the EVMs,” he said.
The khap leader said the Congress was involved in nepotism and corruption. Kandela said that for the second time in the state.
