Punjab roadways conductor robbed by 3 men in Sirsa
A Punjab Roadways conductor, returning home after duty in Sirsa district, was robbed by three masked men. The robbers took his bag, which contained Rs 15,000 in ticket money, a ticket machine and a mobile phone. The police have recorded the conductor’s statement and registered a case against unidentified assailants, launching an investigation into the incident.
According to information, Gurlal Singh, a resident of Matdadu village, works as a conductor for the Punjab Roadways. He was on duty on a bus running from Malerkotla to Dabwali, which stopped overnight at Dabwali. On Sunday night, after the bus arrived at Dabwali, Gurlal ended his shift and began his journey home around 8 pm on his motorcycle.
Gurlal reported that as he neared Masitan Power House, a car approached from behind, coming in front of his bike to block his path. Three masked men exited the vehicle, approached him and snatched his conductor’s bag before fleeing the scene. Following the incident, Gurlal alerted the Dabwali Sadar police.
In response, the police immediately set up barricades in the area, but the robbers managed to evade capture. The police have recorded Gurlal Singh’s statement and filed a case against the unidentified assailants. The authorities revealed that they had identified the licence plate number of the car used by the robbers and were working to trace and arrest them soon.
