Over 2 lakh students participate in traffic rules quiz held by cops in Sirsa, Dabwali
In a remarkable initiative, approximately 2,50,000 students from 800 schools and 25 colleges across the district participated in a quiz competition on traffic rules. The event aimed to instill traffic awareness among students at an early age.
Inspector Shamsher Singh, traffic police station in-charge, expressed delight at the students’ enthusiasm for the event. He emphasised childhood was a golden period for learning, and lessons taught during this phase left a lasting impression on children. “By imparting good values during childhood, we can shape them into responsible citizens,” he said.
The quiz was organised with significant support from the Education Department. Inspector Singh urged students to not only follow traffic rules themselves but also encourage those around them to do so, contributing to the establishment of a more civilised society.
Addressing the participants, he urged students to adopt traffic rules willingly rather than out of fear. “Children are the future of the nation. By following traffic rules, they can set a positive example and give a new direction to society,” he added. He also emphasised that students under the age of 18 must refrain from driving.
The district police have been conducting seminars and workshops to educate people on traffic regulations and to ensure smoother traffic management.
