Over Rs 11,522 cr paid to farmers for paddy, millet procurement
The procurement of paddy and millet is progressing smoothly across Haryana’s mandis, with over Rs 11,522 crore already disbursed directly to farmers’ bank accounts. This total includes Rs 10,510.79 crore for paddy and Rs 1,011.31 crore for millet.
An official spokesperson said the procurement season has been running efficiently, with farmers receiving timely payments. So far, 49,79,172 metric tonnes (MT) of paddy have been brought to state mandis, of which 48,57,405 MT have been procured.
The government has also introduced an online gate pass system to simplify crop sales and reduce delays at the mandis. Farmers are benefitting from a minimum support price (MSP) of Rs 2,300 per quintal for normal paddy and Rs 2,320 per quintal for grade-A paddy.
According to the spokesperson, the highest paddy arrival has been in Kurukshetra, with 9,90,294 MT, followed by 8,25,493 MT in Karnal, 8,07,084 MT in Kaithal, 6,09,789 MT in Fatehabad, 5,69,831 MT in Ambala, and 5,59,176 MT in Yamunanagar. Other arrivals include 1,93,859 MT in Jind, 2,15,995 MT in Sirsa, and 90,753 MT in Panchkula.
