Karnal: Outsourced staff shift dharna site
Karnal, July 21
Even after the assurance from the district administration of a meeting with the Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday evening, the outsourced employees continued their protest but shifted the dharna site from near the CM Camp Office to Sector 12 near the Mini-Secretariat in the city. They are demanding regularisation of their jobs.
Scores of employees, under the banner of the Outsourced Part-II Karamchari Sangathan, staged a state-level protest in the city on Saturday. They were adamant on a meeting the CM and staged a dharna near the CM Camp Office.
Sanjay Munde, state spokesperson of the organisation, said they were assured of a meeting with the CM, so they shifted their dharna to the Sector-12 site.
“We were protesting peacefully, but the police used force on Saturday evening, resulting in injuries to some of our employees. We are demanding regularisation of our jobs,” he said. “If our demands are not met, we will go on a hunger strike,” he added.
“We were earlier also assured by former CM Manohar Lal Khattar, but we have not been regularised,” he said.
Amid the shouting of slogans by the protesting employees, he said, “We have raised our issue at different platforms, but to no avail, forcing us to go on strike,” Munde said. He said they had been recruited after they met all required parameters.
