On poll eve, candidates make final push with door-to-door campaign

A day before the state goes to the Assembly election, candidates on Friday visited door to door and village to village to woo voters. They met annoyed voters in their constituencies and held meetings with their supporters to formulate strategies to ensure maximum polling.

Their family members and supporters also held meetings with the prominent and influential people in their respective constituencies to drum up support. BJP candidate Pramod Vij, along with his wife Neeru, his son Rahul and daughter-in-law Ashima, celebrated his birthday with the supporters in his election office. He also visited Devi Temple and after that he held meetings with his supporters at his election office and discussed the poll strategies.

Vij said people were happy with the policies of the BJP-led state government and “we are going to win our seat with a good margin and form the government in the state for the third time”.

Congress candidate Varinder Kumar Shah held rounds of meetings with his supporters and discussed the strategies for the polling day. Shah especially held meetings with the party workers and motivated them to maintain the booths properly during the polling. He asked some prominent people in the city to keep a special watch on the polling booths so that agents didn’t face any problem. After the booth workers’ meeting, Shah met the influential people in the city.

BJP candidate Krishan Lal Panwar from Israna held a round of meetings at his residence in the morning and then he moved out to meet his supporters in various villages. He said the people in Israna constituency showed their trust in the BJP policies and they would ensure the BJP won the seat by a big margin.

BJP candidate Mahipal Dhanda from Panipat Urban held a meeting with his supporters at his home in the morning. Later, he visited various colonies and villages to urge them to vote in his support. In Sonepat, the BJP candidate and Mayor Nikhil Madaan held rounds of meetings and went door to door to establish a personal connect with the voters. He also met booth agents. Congress candidate Surender Panwar spent his day by holding meetings with the party workers and made strategy for management of polling booths.
