Om Prakash Chautala holds roadshow in Kalayat, targets Congress and BJP
Boosting the campaign of party president and Kalayat candidate Rampal Majra, INLD supremo Om Prakash Chautala held a roadshow in the constituency on Sunday and exhorted people to vote for change.
Launching a scathing attack on Congress and BJP, the former chief minister accused both parties of exploiting the state and the country. “During the Congress rule, corruption was rampant, and when we got rid of it, the BJP sold off the country's resources,” said the 90-year-old leader.
Chautala criticized the BJP government for failing to provide fair prices for farmers' crops, stressing that rising costs of fuel and essential goods are worsening their plight.
“While the prices of diesel for tractors keep increasing daily, the prices of fuel for airplanes are going down. This clearly shows that the government is of the capitalists,” he added.
He criticized the Congress, labeling it anti-farmer and anti-Dalit.
Chautala promised to close government portals and revert to providing services through ration cards, if voted to power. He also promised to increase the old-age pension started by Devi Lal to Rs 7,500.
