Nuh-violence accused Bittu Bajrangi to contest as Independent in Faridabad
Rajkumar Panchal, known as Bittu Bajrangi, a right-wing activist and cow vigilante, has announced to contest Assembly elections from the NIT segment here as an Independent candidate.
He had been booked as an accused in the violence that had taken place in Nuh district last year.
Bajrangi said that while he had been campaigning in the segment for the past few months, he is now ready to file nomination papers as his following had grown immensely in the past few years. He said he had been carrying out door-to-door campaigning to get support.
Bajrangi is an accused in the case of violence that broke out during the Braj Mandal Yatra in Nuh in 2023.
Associated with various controversies, he had also been booked in some cases related to disturbance of religious harmony in the district earlier.
He had been booked by the police a few months ago in a case in which some cows, goats and other animals of a cattle owner had been taken away forcibly by some persons.
Bajrangi was also booked for giving hate speech on social media regarding a case of sexual exploitation of a teenager this year.
The police had issued a show-cause notice to him for cancellation of his arms licence. He was booked by the police in connection with beating up a local resident in March last after a video went viral on social media.
While he had been provided security after the death of his younger brother Mahesh in an incident of fire, former CM Manohar Lal Khattar had visited his house to condole the death of his brother in January this year.
Bajrangi had claimed that his brother had been murdered by persons from the minority community.
