The arrested accused was identified as Jahul of Raipuri village in Nuh district.
On Thursday night, the CIA Nuh team received information that Jahul — who was wanted by the Mathura police and carrying a reward of Rs 15,000 — had illegal weapons with him and was standing at Palwal T-Point in Nuh.
Following the tip-off, the police team raided the spot and arrested Jahul. On searching, a country-made pistol and a cartridge were recovered from his possession.
A senior police officer said that apart from the Gangster Act case registered against the accused at the Baldev police station of Mathura, three separate cases of theft are registered against him in the Dabua and Ballabhgarh police stations of Faridabad.
“The Uttar Pradesh Police had announced a reward of Rs 15,000 in connection with the case registered at the Baldev police station, Mathura. We have registered a case against the accused under the Arms Act at the Nuh city police station and informed the police concerned,” said a spokesperson of the Nuh police.
