9 am to 4 pm, Rohtak PGIMS doctors to provide online consultation daily
Doctors serving at the PGIMS will now provide online consultation to patients across the state. This will enable the patients to consult specialist doctors, saving their time and money.
"Instructions in this regard have been issued by the Haryana Government," said Dr HK Aggarwal, Vice-Chancellor, Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences (UHS), Rohtak.
Dr Aggarwal was the chief guest at a physical training session conducted for the doctors of the institute in this regard on Saturday.
Addressing the doctors, the Vice-Chancellor said the underlying idea behind the exercise was to ensure the availability of good medical facilities to people living in far-flung areas of the state.
"The PGIMS has been made the nodal centre by the government to make health services reach every corner of the state through tele-consultation," he said.
Under the project, the doctors of the institute will treat patients coming to Community Health Centres (CHCs), Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and other health facilities across the state through tele-consultation.
Stating that the facility would be started very soon, Dr Aggarwal said physical training was being provided to the faculty members by state NHM, C-DAC (Mohali), and the institute.
The VC said now every person would have access to good quality medical facilities without having to travel to the PGIMS.
The institute's Medical Superintendent, Dr Kundan Mittal, said the C-DAC was providing specialised training to the doctors so that they did not face any problem in online treatment.
"The online consultation facility will be provided throughout the week from 9 am to 4 pm," he said, adding that after the commencement of the service, doctors from 10 clinical departments would sit together and treat patients through the e-Sanjeevani portal every day.
The nodal officer for the programme, Dr Sukhbir Singh, said to begin with, the departments of gynaecology and obstetrics, pediatrics, medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, psychiatry, ENT and dermatology would provide online service.
